Labour Day Road Trip
So to make up for all this, I've came back to blog about my normal life. I went on a FOOD TRIP with my mom to de-stress our selves. It's not just some normal boring food trip though, We went over the rainbow (Penang Bridge) in search of the mouth-watering seafood. Our first stop was about an hours journey from home A humble little village in Kemunting which sells amazing delicacies of the sea.
Simple restaurant that gives off that village vibe.
View from the end of the restaurant
You get to feed the fishies too!
Although those are big slimy cat-fishes....
There are hundreds and thousands of them!!
All gulping down the fish food like barbarians....
There are many flies despite being open-aired and flies are usually a no no for me!
I know seafood attracts these pesky bugs but at least put a fly-killing light there!
As you can see there are no food pictures because we were too hungry so we fed ourselves first before the camera.....
The food was delish!!
When having fish, I personally love love love steamed fish!
The art of perfecting the steamed fish is not easy, you have to time it precisely to achieve that smooth texture when eating.
The fish meat was as smooth as silk.
We also had stir-fried ostrich meat (as I was told) and pork.
The ostrich meat wasn't as tender as the pork but overall it's good~
The fish feeding part was the most addicting activity on deck!
You get to observe the different splashes created by different species of fishes while they're eating.
OK, maybe I sound weird like some fish loving psycho-path but I'm telling you, it's nothing like that!
I'll definitely come back though!
The awesome food and fish feeding....
Another hour on the road and I've been using the time to sleep..... (guilty as charged!)
I'm not sure where is the place but this place sells the most delicious Gulai Prawns in History!!
At least in the part of history I was known to.....
It's prawns stirred in thick curry paste.
There are also loaves of bangali bread to go with it, with a choice of rice too of course.
The bread is steamed to give it a warm fluffy feel like clouds on a summer day~
For a person who doesn't take spicy food regularly, this dish got me hooked!
Despite me breathing like a retarded dragon, I kept on going until my pants were about to pop open!
You can really tell a good dish if it makes you act that way!
The shop itself!
Food is served~
Up-close shot of the prawns!
Star of the meal~
The river connected to the sea.
Next stop we went to visit my mom's friend's relatives who is a candy distributor.
I had a mini adventure wandering around those big boxes of sweets and chocolates!!
It's like searching for hidden treasures in this big pile of good stuff!!
The outcome was I went on a candy spree and end up buying tons and tons of goodies.....
I also met some furry friends on my short visit there!
Little pup!!!
This cat is called Morning~
The Cockroach Catching Feline!
Little kid's heaven from the sky!!
Everything you eat,
Goes to waist,
Your waist!
