Wandering to Seoul
Monday, September 5, 2016 @ September 05, 2016 `°•.¸¸.•°` leave a comment ( 0 )

After living till the ripe age of 20, I've finally managed to persuade my mum to let me travel to Seoul with my friends !

It was a hard time persuading but eventually she gave in (only child with over-protective mum problems...)
I went there by Air Asia and as usual the flight from PEN-KL delayed a little bit
Malaysians are famous for being late for everything.

I traveled with my buddy Luannie to meet my another buddy who went to Taiwan to study, JH.
After about 6 hours flight from KL-ICN we finally arrived Seoul!
It all felt like a dream though ~

Starved for 6 hours, our first meal in Seoul is this bun from TOUS les JOURS.
Saving the tummy space for more local korean food, we set out for the guest house in HongDae because no one likes carrying their luggage around during summer...

Some airport scapes on the way to the MTR.
Their airport is something like a fusion of traditional and modern architecture which is awesome.

For the time being we had to buy a one-way ticket from Incheon Airport to HongDae before getting a T-Money Card.

Love their train cabins tho, so nice and its not as crowded and old as the ones in Hong Kong.
The journey was a long but comfortable to the point that I almost fell asleep but the adrenaline and excitement kept me up.

Some snaps around Hongdae.

We stayed in Oh Guesthouse. A warm, cozy & affordable place for low-budget teens like us.
Forgotten to take a picture of the nice place we stayed in....sry....
Summer in Seoul is no joke tho, sweated like a dog every day.
Had to walk some time to search for lunch.

We came across a place called Han's Deli because the cold buckwheat noodles.

The weather ain't playing when you want your noodles served cold.
Besides noodles, we ordered cheesy chicken with kimchi fried rice (I don't really know what it's called... I don't speak korean ~)

I apologize for some shaky pics, you cannot imagine how hungry I was during that time.

The noodles were bomb-ass yummy! The first slurp brings you to heaven INSTANTLY man!
The cheese kimchi fried rice was decent too.
Prices were reasonable and this cafe was like a spontaneous choice as we have absolutely no idea where to go for food.

Nevertheless, no regrets babeh!

My T-Money card!! So cute right? Simple and nice~
It was really convenient to travel around rather than always need to rummage through our bag for wallets and cash.

2nd stop was MyeongDong!
Being a tourist destination, the place was swarming with people.
Hot and humid, bumping to others were so sticky....
Besides coming for local street food, we also wanted to go up the Seoul Namsan Tower.

This is from the underground market in MyeongDong.
It sells loads of quirky stuff at a reasonable price (depending on the currency of course...)

I love how koreans are so healthy.
This juice store blends its fruits whole so you can actually taste the fruit rather than just plain syrup.
Thirst quencher on a hot day!

The journey to the top begins.....on foot!

One of the nice thing about walking is you get the really see how the houses in korea are.

We each found a pretty neat spot to take a picture (girls being girls)
I hope they don't get mad for putting their picture up here ~

Almost there ~

The love-lock area was also famous here in MyeongDong.

You can see tons and tons couples declaring their love by locking the lovelocks and throwing the keys away.
They practically lock anything there.
I saw phone cases being the 2nd most common thing used.

We decided to wait for the night to come for some cityscapes since we got this far.

Our tummies couldn't take it at last so we went to the fried chicken shop to get some lovin' for my tummy.
If you didn't know, korea is really really famous for it's fried chicken and beer.

And then night came,

I don't know why but my camera takes shaky pics during the night it frustrates me so much!

Until the day I earn enough to buy a DSLR, just bear with my photos for the time being.
Day 1 officially ended.
Going back early cause I have been awake for 24 hours that day.
So close to snapping.... so close....

We didn't go up the tower because we had to pay and we're actually very very broke....
I will come back again tho!
Coming back with more money!!
